When the past continues to affect the present
Trauma can leave lasting emotional and physical effects.
You may feel constantly on edge, overwhelmed by emotions, disconnected from yourself, or trapped in patterns that are difficult to understand.
Sometimes trauma is linked to a specific event. Sometimes it develops through repeated experiences over time.
Whatever your experience, counselling can help you begin making sense of its impact.

When the Past Continues to Affect the Present
These responses are often understandable reactions to difficult experiences.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. However, trauma affects everyone differently, and not everyone who struggles after a traumatic experience will identify with the term PTSD.
You may find yourself reliving difficult experiences through unwanted memories, nightmares, or flashbacks. You might feel constantly on alert, easily startled, emotionally overwhelmed, or avoid situations that remind you of what happened. Some people experience feelings of numbness, disconnection, guilt, shame, or difficulty trusting others.
Living with the effects of trauma can be exhausting and isolating. It can affect relationships, work, sleep, confidence, and your ability to feel safe in the world.
I work gently and at a pace that feels right for you.
Counselling offers a supportive space to explore these experiences at a pace that feels manageable for you. There is no expectation to revisit painful memories before you feel ready.
Together, we can work towards understanding how trauma is affecting your life today, developing ways to manage its impact, and helping you reconnect with a greater sense of safety, stability, and self-compassion.
I have experience supporting individuals affected by trauma &/or PTSD, including those who have experienced abuse, difficult childhood experiences, displacement, loss, and significant life challenges.
My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and grounded in respect for your individual experience.
I offer trauma & PTSD counselling in Lambeth, London, and online across the UK.
Sessions are available in English and French.
This can be particularly valuable when discussing deeply personal experiences that may feel easier to express in your first language.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to discuss your needs and answer any questions you may have.
There is no obligation to continue beyond this initial conversation.
You are welcome to get in touch whenever you feel ready.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07810 305920 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquiries are usually answered within a couple of days, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
